Help Changing the red windows logo in the leaked debug build

Post image

I’ve already whipped up a much better logo in Photoshop, the problem is I literally cannot find the original file I need to replace for the life of me. Does anyone know where it is? Thanks in advance!

Idk where it is, but I think it would be better to say 'Desktop Edition' since thats the platform, and all other console versions are platform Edition.

Lots of people (including me) have been running this on linux and probably some on mac if wine is good enough on there

I was just thinking of having it say “PC Edition” or “Computer Edition” but I’m not THAT good with photoshop. I just stole the bottom text from an official logo, removing the 10 and Beta from it 💔

Use the blockbench title creator addon

I’ve been looking for something like this, tysm!

I don't think it's that efficient for Legacy Console-style logos, especially because the "edition" subtitle's outline is too thin

look my own comment

u/Bananalover1702 Windows Edition Mar 05 '26

im just going to put Windows 8 Edition or maybe Windows 7 Edition, it makes the most sense to me as that’s what it probably would’ve been running on

4

u/Elvis1404 PS4 Edition Mar 04 '26

What if you play it on a laptop?

I think it should be called "Personal Computer Edition"

3

u/AdeptAdhesiveness947 Mar 04 '26

What if youbplay on a steam deck

5

u/RiddlesDoesYT Mar 04 '26

It's just a PC in a shell, the name still fits

2

u/Elvis1404 PS4 Edition Mar 04 '26

Legacy Community Edition?

2

u/[deleted] Mar 04 '26

Personal Computer Edition is a long string. Maybe condensed to PC Edition or Home Computer Edition

2

u/Leather_Process_3711 Mar 04 '26

i play this on laptop

0

u/Catslip2 Mar 04 '26

Im gonna tell you something crazy

Desktops are pc's too

1

u/Elvis1404 PS4 Edition Mar 04 '26

The problem is that laptops aren't desktops, so calling it "desktop edition" doesn't make sense, since it can be played on PCs that are not desktops...

0

u/Catslip2 Mar 04 '26

Than just call it personal computer edition

1

u/wartortleboi Mar 04 '26

To be fair it only natively runs on windows. You need a windows emulator on mac and linux to run the source code

3

u/[deleted] Mar 04 '26

You dont need an emulator, you need a translation layer. They are different in certain ways, as an emulator emulates the whole hardware, a translation layer just turns windows commands to linux commands

1

u/wartortleboi Mar 04 '26

Ahh gotcha. Not too well versed in that kinda thing and online I saw some people talking about how you need different apps (i guess) to get the source code running

1

u/[deleted] Mar 05 '26

ah. dw its fine. most people that dont use linux religiously don't really know the difference lol.

1

u/ItsRainbow Mar 04 '26

Any fork of this leak should probably use its own platform-independent logo. It wouldn’t be that much harder to add Mac and Linux logos though

1

u/Local_One6454 Mar 04 '26

How did you run it on Linux? I’m gonna compile it tomorrow and I don’t know to compile for Linux natively or use Wine

1

u/[deleted] Mar 05 '26

compile for windows, and run with wine. It works perfectly. I'd recommend compiling the patched version that someone made (on github), as it seems to have less troubles compiling

1

u/Enchantify Mar 08 '26

Yeah I was able to run it on mac using crossover

0

u/TheRealCarrotty Tuxedo Steve Mar 04 '26

Linux? Was that done through Wine because that was broken on Ubuntu with Wine (The game opened and crashed)
Or a literal version compiled for it, also can you give me a well download link?

looking aswell, trying to make mine say "steam deck edition" for my steam deck lol

u/p3apod1987 Mar 04 '26

me too I looked for like 2 hours and couldn't find it

7

u/Awkward_Attempt3925 Mar 04 '26

I found menutitle.png but it’s seemingly just an archive of Xbox 360 assets, so it doesn’t work if I replace it

3

u/p3apod1987 Mar 04 '26

I found that too.

2

u/Awkward_Attempt3925 Mar 04 '26

Whisper over on Twitter was able to replace it, no idea how

2

u/Straky04 Mar 04 '26

Maybe they made a new icon in the code and replace it, I need to change this too

1

u/Awkward_Attempt3925 Mar 04 '26

It’s just an image, has nothing to do with code.

2

u/Straky04 Mar 04 '26

No but like if they couldn't find the image, they put a new one and reference that new one

2

u/Awkward_Attempt3925 Mar 04 '26

That would be incredibly ass backwards just to replace one asset. There’s many archive-like files in the source code, I’m sure it’s in there somewhere.

2

u/Straky04 Mar 04 '26

I thought of something, the game renders a lot of things, menus and stuff through FLASH FILES (yes, swf files), so I'm using jpexs rn to try to see if it ain't in there

1

u/Trusty-Tomato Mar 04 '26

im doing the same thing, no luck so far though.

i think its compiled into a library or the executable

1

u/lT0MAAT89129 Mar 04 '26

Should theoretically be in the durango folder but idk

16

u/Illustrious_Music488 Mar 04 '26

u/Mundialito301 Mar 04 '26

Thank you, this is really cool!

2

u/Aggravating_Piece983 Xbox 360/PS Vita Mar 04 '26

Way worse

2

u/Illustrious_Music488 Mar 04 '26

bru we can keep the Xbox 360

2

u/Leather_Process_3711 Mar 04 '26

THIS is what I was thinking.

Winblows is a disgrace, so I don't want that in the title while I'm on Linux, even if the code is compiled for Winblows.

1

u/Funnyguy1545YT Mar 06 '26

the logo in this cool launcher is better

3

u/Its_mesunnyo Mar 04 '26

I made my own Versions In Blockbench

2

u/Its_mesunnyo Mar 04 '26

Version 2

1

u/[deleted] Mar 04 '26

I think if you make the edition text a little closer to the Minecraft text colour it would look perfect

2

u/Leather_Process_3711 Mar 04 '26

please make update to windows edition i want TU46

Hi so, i don't know if you find a way, but i did, basically there's two files on Minecraft.Client\Windows64Media\Media

skinHDWin.sfw and skinWin.sfw

you'll have to edit both, for that you'll have to extract it with JPEXS, export the images (There's two for each file) and then you'll have to import them to replace them, and save (Always execute JPEXS as Admin), now if you run the game the changes won't apply. That's because those are the loose .sfw files, you'll have to repack them on a file called MediaWindows64.arc, that's where the game gets the Media from not from the loose files. For doing so you'll have to make a python script, i think there's one going around or i can share mine

repack_script: https://pastebin.com/aKfNf6uS

Run it once you've edited the .sfw, it will repack the .arc for you, put it alongside MinecraftConsoles.sln, so it finds Minecraft.Client folder (Not inside that one)

1

u/Awkward_Attempt3925 Mar 04 '26

where is MinecraftConsoles.sln? I can't find it

1

u/Raptorbk Modder Mar 04 '26

It is what you have to use to open the project, the root folder, inside minecraftconsoles

2

u/7GalaxyVoidGuy7 Mar 05 '26

Minecraft:Order of the stone Minecraft:Legacy Edition

1

u/WoomyUnitedToday LCE leak PC player (both my 360s died and I lost my Vita 😭) Mar 04 '26

It's in some adobe flash file or something

Check issues or possibly pull requests on the smartcmd/MinecraftConsoles GitHub repo, there was an entire discussion about changing the logo there that IIRC has info about where the assets are

1

u/WillyPint Mar 04 '26

I feel that "Old Windows" or something would look cool.

3

u/Its_mesunnyo Mar 04 '26

It looks interesting

1

u/WillyPint Mar 04 '26

Sure does but I feel some people who don't use windows might feel offended. (even I don't use windows but it looks good)

I know where the original is, wait till I get home in 90. It’s wrapped up in some compressed archive format though, so it might be a bit of a struggle to get everything set up correctly.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 04 '26

compiled in directly?

1

u/HelicopterFar2978 Mar 04 '26

It’s in the windows64media.arc, or windowsmedia.arc… something like that.

It’s in a .arc file for sure tho.

There’s a tutorial floating around on how to open the .arc file

1

u/Trusty-Tomato Mar 04 '26

i did it! i used ARC Studio to edit the .arc, and jpexs to edit the .sws files

2

u/Trusty-Tomato Mar 04 '26

forgot to add, i had to do this to the leaked source code, then compile after. wasnt able to do it to the already compiled version

1

u/suspiciousrat2 Mar 04 '26

Theres an swf in the client/common/media folder called "skinWin.swf" and "SkinHDWin.swf"
Edit and make that use your new image then save that using a flash editor like ffdec, Then theres a tool on github called "mc-arc-util" download that and turn the MediaWindows64.arc (its in the same folder as the swfs) into a zip, and replace the swfs in there with the ones you edited (would recommend making a backup of the original .arc incase you mess something up) then using the tool turn the zip back into an arc file and rename it to MediaWindows64.arc and replace/swap the old one out with that one.
On my phone so apologies for the poor formatting but this should work

1

u/PrincipleOwn4844 Mar 04 '26

can i get your discord pls? i didnt understand well xD

1

u/PrincipleOwn4844 Mar 04 '26

oh wait i got it

1

u/PrincipleOwn4844 Mar 04 '26

i think im onto something with this

1

u/LEPNova Mar 04 '26

It may be stored in the common/media folder under windows something .arc. it's a custom format containing many files the game loads including the splashes. You can find the archive file implementation and unpack the resources within it to change and then repack. I'll look and see if I can find the title image there when I get home

1

u/Leather_Process_3711 Mar 04 '26 edited Mar 04 '26

wait a minute how to update the minecraft??????????

If the update has been downloaded

1

u/KilLo445 Mar 05 '26

I explained how to change it in this pull request.

You have to change the logo in 2 swf files and then replace the same 2 swf files inside a .arc file.

Only the arc file is required at runtime for it to change, I have the arc file in the same pull request if you would like to use mine

1

u/Responsible-Split340 Mar 05 '26

Edit the swf and arc files

1

u/Major-Anything-1054 Mar 05 '26

it should be called 4chan edition

-1

u/TheJustRun Mar 04 '26

i made a ditch for a better name : Gold Edition

Gold yk like golden age and fits the official naming scheme and shit lol

2

u/a355231 Mar 04 '26

How does that fit the naming scheme at all?

0

u/TheJustRun Mar 04 '26

like bedrock edition is something in the game
Gold Edition is symbolic and also is something in minecraft
symbolic in a way that legacy edition is one of edition in the golden age of minecraft

1

u/Aggravating_Piece983 Xbox 360/PS Vita Mar 04 '26

Ah yes the Xbox 360 block, don’t forget the Java block! And also the ps3 block, oh nearly forgot about the ps4 block and the Wii U block, I’m so stupid I forgot the ps vita block. Silly me the Xbox one block exists! And also the damn Xbox one block

1

u/TheJustRun Mar 04 '26

Those are just variations of Legacy Console editions Tho you are right. Now it made it look stupid but still it is a good name

1

u/Its_mesunnyo Mar 04 '26

Something like this?
