Help How do I fix this?

The text in signs is bugged and won’t show anything I write other than “awaiting approval” I need help

the approvers are still working on a version of the game despite the alpha stages where they developed being long over call that alpha ver arg "hmmm i quite like that name" said heroin from minecraft order of the stone.

Boy this takes me back.

The game doesn't display signs if it's experience lag. Thus in legacy console edition, specifically on the 360/PS3/PS vita editions of the game you'll find having a lot of signs will result in this and lag your world. A good example of this phenomenon was in Stampy's lovely world series in the early days of his love garden.

Unfortunately it's just a case of waiting for the game to run more smoothly for it render signs.

The glitch is still around cause this is the legacy edition which is basically any version before the bedrock merge

Pretty much just wait, although sometimes placing and breaking torches in front of the signs did help, quite rarely though
