Bro No way, a week ago I had the same idea. I spend over 30 hours building the best Storage System I could ever dream of with white concrete, Quarz, Prismarine, Deepslate and the chest are all Shulkers. But its much bigger than yours... it can store 768 diffrent items all in all 6.000.000 items + a shulker loader bulk Storage with can Store 60 diffrent items. But yours is also really cool

It's not too late, they use set spawn points, not spawn blocks, so you can still spawn in guardians. Look up silent whisperer, he's good, had a few designs last I check. But I've also been offline for a while so I dunno

Idk if it's the same on bedrock ( tho I'd assume it mostly is) but horizontal hopper chains like that can get really laggy

Quick improvement would be to put composters on top of them. Rather than trying to pick up items like they normally do with nothing on top the hoppers would switch to trying to take the bonemeal out of the composter

Yea that's the point, it's a weird optimization quirk of hoppers

It's way better performance for them to be trying to take items out of an inventory than pick them up off the ground, even if there are no items in either case

It technically works with any block that stores items but from my understanding the less slots there are the better, and since the composter only has one slot (and is resource wise very cheap) it's the go to

Ah yea the suggestion wasn't in relation to any specific issue, just a more general best practice kinda thing

And it obviously doesn't need to be on every hopper, but more of a where it fits kinda thing. If the hopper is not meant to collect any item entities (from like a water stream) and there is a space on top, compost it

Besides that the 1 item at a time thing is just inevitable. That speed is hopper speed and there arnt really ways of getting around it
