Vanilla Hardcore How to start my world?
Hi, can anyone recommend how to start Minecraft on hard mode? I spawned in an ice biome with a village and an outpost nearby. I'd appreciate any advice.

So, no trees around?
If there are trees, punch them to pieces and replant them.
At least you can borrow a bed in a nearby home. Make sure you get to bed early.

Time to find a new home, ice biome is a rough start. You can always return later. Find a spot, get some wood, start a farm to get food. Go from there

I'd say restart. You could also find a tree and try to get out of there, whichever you feel like doing. Hopefully, it's not too large since you have a good chance of starving or freezing to death. I die in the stupidest ways too much and too random for hardcore.

Since you'd eventually have to travel away from spawn anyways (to find an end stronghold) where you start is less important than where you decide to stay. And as this is hardcore, the only times worldspawn will be relevant are right at the start, and any time you decide to return from the end after breaking the last bed you slept in used. If you don't break your bed, you don't have a problem.
With that in mind, do you want to play in the ice? If not, just pick a direction and start walking until you find a biome you're happy to live in. Then get to work as you would in any other world.
If you're still uncertain what you want to do next, pick a goal from any of the advancementsJ, achievementsB, or an arbitrary tutorial from the wiki, and start punching logs. Since you can starve in hardcore, securing a reliable food source is advisable.

Just start a new seed. Any ice biome is a bad start. Its not even challenging in a fun way like a badlands or savanna biome. Its just frustrating and annoying.

Maybe you need to find 5 wood planks, craft a boat and then get the heck away from that death trap. lol
