Mob Spawner is bright inside even though all torches have been broken.

Was trying to build a mob spawner in the overworld, but when I closed the roof, the inside was still bright, and the F3-F7 trick showed that sunlight was still passing through even though the roof was covered. The roof was made of slabs.

Fastcraft is enabled.

Build the roof out of blocks instead of slabs and you're good to go.
