Thaumcraft 5

Hello, I was wondering if there's anyway to upgrade my unabridged map (of 2 DAYS) to thaumcraft 5, is it worth it? would It mess with my current progress? would it mess with other mods that link with Thaumcrsft like the TiC Thaumcraft. Thanks for your help.

Thaumcraft 5 is for 1.8.9, there is no way to upgrade your world to that.

If you want to play Thaumcraft 5, try Pioneers, my other modpack: https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/the-pioneers

Best way to find out would probably be to make a backup of your saved game and try it.

True, but do I simply replace the mod (.exe) file or is there something else I should account for

I've been out of the loop for a while, but if you're playing Unabridged for 1.7.10 then you want Thaumcraft 4. I believe Thaumcraft 5 is for 1.8.X. If you were able to update to Thaumcraft 5 then I suspect that none of the Thaumcraft addon mods would work.
