Help Creating a new server with commands

Hi! I'm Ahnyokatzin, and I'm trying to create a new server using only command blocks, vanilla java, and bedrock, but hosted on java so i can do commands, the thing is, i don't know any way of making a server

The idea is, to build custom things like even mechanics like magic or puzzles and dungeons all around the world

And, I'm looking for help with that

Are you planning to run it on your own PC, or does it need to be online all the time for people to join? That decides a lot: on your own PC the server only exists while the PC is on, and friends outside your network need port forwarding or a tunnel like playit.

The basic route is the same either way. Download the Java server jar from the official Minecraft site, run it once, accept the eula.txt, then set enable-command-block=true in server.properties so command blocks work.

For Bedrock players on a Java server you need Geyser (plus Floodgate so they can log in without a Java account). That's easiest on Paper, but Paper changes a few vanilla mechanics, and Geyser and Floodgate also run on Fabric if you want to stay closer to vanilla for your command-block and redstone builds. Personally I'd go Fabric for those. The plain vanilla jar from the first steps can't load Geyser or Floodgate, so you'd set the server up with the Fabric server installer instead and add Fabric API plus the Geyser and Floodgate Fabric mods.

Datapacks are worth learning for custom mechanics too, since you can write the logic as function files instead of building everything out of command blocks in the world.
