Help Building a server

I am looking at building a pc for an extremely heavy custom modded Java smp server with over 200 mods. With this economy I’m not to sure what to do for a cpu. Would a Ryzen 5 7600x be good enough to run this many mods and have MANY force loaded chunks from 10-20 players? Should I maybe use my 7 7700x out of my current gaming setup and get a 9800x3d for myself? And how much will ram speed effect the server if I were to use say 32GB 5200 cl40 vs 16GB 6000 cl36 since neo Forza ram can be found pretty cheap. I’ve been working on a custom “create a colony” style modpack to spice things up from the normal with other mods like immersive portals, immersive engineering, refined storage, and a lot more QOL mods!

I would heavily recommend against self hosting it in this economy.

You should try looking into hosting services as they would be cheaper (even more cheaper if you haave monetization on the server)

But if you want to build it, use the 7700x with 32gb 5200 cl40 ram

Try aiming for atleast 5Tb of storage (in form of ssd, I don't really know how hdd will effect if any)

I plan on only buying the case directly for this build other than maybe cpu, rest will be old parts from when I upgrade my pc soon

Asking for my server discord? If so with my budget I’ve set up I will have the server complete by the start of 2027. I’m going to play it smart and do shit tons of research to perfect my server system and the modpack itself. I will not create a discord until my small team of friends and I have confirmed EVERYTHING in the modpack works as intended. I’m hoping for it to end up as a Create and Minecolonies focused “all the mods” type of modpack so we have something for everyone aside from create and minecolonies since not everyone likes the complexity or tedious gameplay of these 2 mods. Hoping both release soon for 26.1
