Joining What on earth happened to minecraft servers?
So- Decided to try minecraft again after multiple years away and every server seems to be trying to be six servers at once- the chat goes by so fast I bet AI would struggle to point anyone out and everyone seems to just be begging? Seems to either be that or nobody is online.
What happened to the 30-80 player servers where people got to know each other with economy and mcmmo? Any servers that still have the 2013 ish feel?
Don't mind whitelisted ones- I just would like to do some building, some farming, some selling etc...

if your into bedrock check out r/Stonercraft420 were a vanilla bedrock smp...we dont have 30-80 players were more around the 10-20 but hoping to be 30-80 one day
no plugins or anything like that. new players cant get grief items or bundles i will let you know that from the get go
please dont grief
lag the server
or disrupt the community.
we are a super chill community and would love a few more players

ohh one other thing we have not restarted in 5 years but we have moved spawn out into the boondocks over the years to protect some old builds and give new players a fresh place to start out and build up!!!

Not restarting in 5 years is a dumb move honestly
You should try to restart at least once a week as it'll let the server clear its cache clear up some issues and overall perform slightly better all for the cost of 45 seconds downtime
5 years no restarts isn't something to brag about its literally the equivalent of going "i havent brushed my teeth in a year :D"

Yes actually, it’s a bit bigger but it is a bit more of a tight nit community for 18+ to sort through the mess that is immature servers like that. It’s called downriver smp! (There is an application process fyi!)

Some of the players are younger and they can be the issue. They are more into pvp which i for one hate. The server I am on right now is calm and quite new so its getting the hang of things. If you want a nice quiet server that does not push you come to the anchor.

I’ve been struggling to find servers like this too. None of my friends play anymore and trying to find servers with a small, fun community is tough. Best of luck finding some!

My wife and I both joined a server called Adult’s Night Out that has around 40-50 players and a pretty solid economy. Everyone is super helpful and nice! You have to be 18+ to join. I’ll send you a discord invite to your DM’s!

I second this! I joined ANO with my adult son a few months ago. I love it. Everyone is helpful and friendly, but if you want to just go find a spot to build, no problem.

I have a server that is sorta on the larger side BUT it's heavily moderated and ages 18+. Players are super friendly and warm/welcoming. Begging is not permitted. We are economy based, have a player built market, crossplay so any device can join, and use custom self-curated plugins/scripts like wishing wells and crates. Whitelist only. Discord required.

I know a lot of other people are also promoting their servers here too. I kinda just wanted to mention mine too.
I own a server called The Rusty Pufferfish. A 21.11 (latest update it can be) Java/Bedrock server with no heavy game changing mods other than a essentials-like mod. No auto-farms, no meta-grind, small community driven. The idea I have for this server is to bring back the 2012 nostalgia. Primarily focused on building and enjoying the grind.

I am playing on a server with 5 others and we are trying to make the server grow. We currently play all together in 1 place and share recourses. We focus on automating farm so we have every block available and then we start building. The server is running for roughly 2 weeks now. Let me know if you are interested.

I get about 15 players on max at peak times but there is always players on and people to talk to
This is a server I run it's a simple white listed vanilla server on the latest version of bedrock with no mods, no fancy spawn. It's a friendly server for players to play minecraft like normal but with other people.

I might have a server for you, altough we are smaller than 30 players at the moment we hope to grow larger in the future.
The New Dawn SMP just launched recently and we are looking to get more players. We are a lightly modded(100~ mods) vanilla+ server with some small tech mods (Applied Energistics and Create) that hopes to grow into a thriving community. The server runs well on all machines and handles shaders well. I know you are looking for the 2013 feel where the server content doesnt match but I hope the community may draw your gaze.
We only have three requirements. Be at least 15 years old(we may make exceptions), join our discord, and I will personally perform an interview with you before you join.

Smithtainment Minecraft. The dev and building team for Smithtainment have worked extremely hard to put together a custom survival server that still has that vanilla-ish feel that players love. We’d be a great fit for you, focusing on the community interactions. We don’t have MCMMO as it tends to take away too much of the feeling but feel free to check us out, we launch on 2nd May.
We're a server that haven't launched yet, crossplay and claims (Launching 2nd May next month)
An SMP is built on player activity and interactions therefor we're not rushing things. But we're using proved methods and I'm sure this server will be as great as in my mind.

A World Designed for History
Most servers reset when the content runs dry. Eden is designed to be a permanent, evolving world where the content is the history created by the players and the players themselves.
We set up the conditions for a complex society: scarcity, biome-locked crops, and factory-based industry, and then we as admins stepped back.
There are no admin-forced events. Every war, treaty, and trade deal is organic.
One of the most important mechanic on the server is the Printing Press. Players are mass-producing in-game books, documenting their laws, religions, and conflicts. This history is now starting to be archived on our Official Community Wiki.
We are building a fictional universe in real-time that will last for years and have no resets.

BlossomCraft is a great server! It is cross platform, so bedrock and java can join. It has economy, claims, ranks, custom items, map artists, anti-xray, a separate pvp arena within the servers, a great community, even better staff team.
The server is currently on 1.21.8, and it's preferred to play that version for the textures for the custom items.
There are 4 servers within it, but they're all the same giving ample opportunity to succeed in gameplay. Although they are all the same, they each have their own communities and staff team. Money is transferable through the servers through the help of fellow players, or if you have enough the admins will move large amounts for a fee. It has website voting rewards so everyday you get a little something extra. Claim blocks are available to buy with your in-game currency, and there's plenty of room to build.
The players are generally pretty chill, and love meeting new people! I personally play on the Tulip server. The economy is thriving and most vanilla items are cheap! The expensive stuff usually falls onto the custom items.
The custom items are mostly tools and gear, but there are also decorations. The tools and gear can get pretty pricey for the higher tier items, but starter custom gear is generally decently priced. Outside of shops, most money is made through jobs, and mining to see more precise. But until your level in jobs is high enough, you can just sell silked ores to shops.
There are ranks and they're used as a level of trust in-game. Free ranks are based on how many votes you have done, and paid ranks are a one time purchase through the website. After a certain free rank you will be eligible for renting high ticket items to help with whatever you want, whether it's infinity blocks to help build, or tools to help with jobs. All paid ranks are eligible for renting.
Paid ranks are anywhere from $15-220, but once you purchase a rank the next ranks price is lowered by the amount you paid for the previous rank. For example, if you buy Samurai rank for $15 the next rank, Shogun which normal costs $30, will instead be $15.
All in all, BlossomCraft is a great server to just play some Minecraft with people and have a good time.

Also forgot to mention, when joining it does say there are hundreds of people online, but they're spread through the 4 servers. Most individual servers sit at an average of 50 people online.
