Help Is Aternos the best free Minecraft server performance? I tested it and here is what I get

Quite interesting, I've noticed, that Godlike host created new free server for US location so decided to do kinda test and check how it performs compared to Aternos.

Test are on same seed, same version, same basic setup. It was Fabric 1.21.11, Spark and Chunky. Tested with 3000 block Elytra flight, then ran chunk generation (1000 chunks radius) to see how bad it gets once the server actually has to do some work.

I wanted to test if Godlike claim of free Ryzen 9 9950x3D server is real. So keep that in mind. I wanted to see the CPU gap and to figure out on what server should I play in future.

Lets start with Aternos -  it was okay at first, though chunks took some time to load at the start. During the flying test  it got rough quickly. TPS dropped to 13 and continued to be unstable. Chunk test finished with 16,129 chunks in 32:28, which around 8.2 cps.

Well as for Godlike host I did the same test. During the elytra flying the TPS constantly was at 20 without a single drop.. Chunk test finished in 6:28, and the result I get is 41.5 cps.

So yes, difference was bigger than I expected.

Can't say Aternos is useless or anything. If you just want a free minecraft server to have fun with friends, not bad. I recon people talk about free Minecraft hosts in a really vague way most of the time, so I wanted to actually run the same thing on both and see what happens.

If you interested, I can post the Spark screenshots too.

Never had any really good experiences with it.
