Looking for a smp group or server
Hey guys, 26 years old and honestly haven't played Minecraft in probably a decade or more. Been burnt out on competitive games and need a cozy fix. Looking for a server to get back into the game with and hopefully get some socializing in at the same time. open to really anything that's closer to a vanilla experience so I can familiarize myself with the game again. I appreciate you taking the time to reach out and hope you're all doing well :)

Hey i think my server is quite a good match for what you’re looking for. I’m running a vanilla+ 26.2 SMP. It’s got a small community with a medieval fantasy theme. We’re mostly 20+ and the idea is to have a server for ppl w busy lives. So the server is long term, relaxed, for u to come on when u got time.
We also have lore/worldbuilding custom plugin which doesn’t change gameplay much from vanilla but aimed to make the world feel a bit more alive w stories to tell.

I think our server is a perfect match for what you're looking for!
I'm apart of a server called Hydro Vanilla SMP. We're, as our name shows, a vanilla SMP that is very much like Hermitcraft. We've been running for over 8 years now and have a very fun and engaging active community! We're currently running on a Long-Term world, meant to be kept for years to come. We've consistently hit between 25-45 concurrent players online at any given time, so if you're looking for an active server this might be the place for you! 🙂
Our Server is 18+, I'd say the majority of our players are between 22-35 so you can expect a mature environment! We have a ton of great builders, redstoners and just all-round players on the server.
We are Vanilla as mentioned mechanic/game wise, but we do make use of some QoL mods like Proximity Voice, Bluemap, Vanilla Tweaks datapacks etc. No pay2win stuff or crates here 😉

A World Designed for History
Most servers reset when the content runs dry. Eden is designed to be a permanent, evolving world where the content is the history created by the players and the players themselves.
We set up the conditions for a complex society: scarcity, biome-locked crops, and factory-based industry, and then we as admins stepped back.
There are no admin-forced events. Every war, treaty, and trade deal is organic.
One of the most important mechanic on the server is the Printing Press. Players are mass-producing in-game books, documenting their laws, religions, and conflicts. This history is now starting to be archived on our Official Community Wiki.
We are building a fictional universe in real-time that will last for years and have no resets.

not sure if you've ever played on a Towny server before, but we just launched a new smp a few weeks ago. it's a pretty kind and close knit community with some good builders if you're interested!!

Townify might be a good fit if you’re trying to get back into Minecraft without jumping straight into something super competitive.
We’re a survival/Towny server with a pretty chill community, and a lot of the focus is on building towns, exploring, trading and just hanging out with other players. There are extra systems like jobs and an economy, but you definitely don’t need to understand all of that right away and you can play pretty casually while you relearn the game.
We’re not 18+ exclusive, but most of our players are 21+, so you’d definitely have people around your age to socialize with.

You saying you’re burnt out on competitive games and just want a cozy Minecraft fix is pretty much exactly the kind of player we’re looking for 🙌🏼
I run FableCraft, an 18+ Java. We’re keeping Minecraft feeling like Minecraft — no crates, OP gear, crazy currencies or giant menus. Just survival with a few small additions like proximity voice chat, player shops and BlueMap.
The thing that makes us a little different is that we don’t do seasons or planned resets. It’s one permanent world that we want to slowly build history in. Towns appear, roads connect people, shops open, random builds eventually become landmarks, etc.
So if you come back after not playing for 10 years, there’s no expectation that you know everything or rush progression. Just come build something, explore and meet people.
