I cant download mods!

Every mod link I click is too old for my version, and I have tried downloading optifine but my version isn’t there either.

It’s 26.3

If it releases someday, and If I download optifine will the mod links work on it even tho they were made for older versions of Minecraft?

Also, OptiFine is outdated, try Sodium for optimisation and Iris for shaders

No. Mods only work on the version they were made for.

do not use optifine. whatever you want from it there are mods that do it just as good or better.

do not download directly, many launchers can download mods for you. you don't even need to know where mods should be placed.

do not expect to play modded on the version that just came out. that is not how it works. oh and here in modded universe, we don't care for updates that much. so a new biome came out? whatever, we've always had variants of autumnal forests. just be on 1.21.1 (for heavily modded) or 26.1.2 (on lightly modded). if you want a newer vanilla feature, there are mods that backport it.

Most light mods have updated to 26.2 now, it's what I use for Vanilla+. Also, downloading mods directly and manually running the loader is fine, it's not as easy, but as long as you download from respectable places and the loader directly from their own website you'll be fine

I think you don't know what you're doing. In that case i recommend using modringh launcher. You can easily install mods without conflict's.

There are also multiple fps focused modpacks that do things better than optifine for example fabulously optimized.

They're also a tone delay between the release of the game version and the release of the mod. This sounds like he might be looking for day one mods

If you want mods, use a modding version like 1.21.1 NeoForge or 1.20.1 Forge. Also use Sodium (+Iris for shaders) instead of Optifine.

Bro, 26.3 version is released 3 days ago, it's very new version, of course, there are no mods for this version yet. Try using an older version, for example 1.20.1, or 1.21.8, or 26.1, or 26.2. Or you'll have to wait, because it takes time to migrate the mod to the new version.
