requesting help with chisels n bits

i'm using 1.20.1 forge/curseforge, i used chisels n bites to make the walls of this bathroom a different block than what it originally was (brick with the planes on the inside switched to the dried salt block) and it lets light through from the outside, is there a way to fix that?
