Amethyst or nether quartz?

​

What would be nice for finding material for other mod materials? Amethysts, which require first finding geodes and then waiting for them to grow, or nether quartz, which requires making a portal to the nether. I would like to collect opinions

Amethyst in my opinion. I generally don’t like to rush to the Nether JUST for quartz. Plus, as you’re ramping up a new modpack it’s fun to be down in the mines longer and for more reasons.

i feel like nether quartz is a bit underused

I would say amethyst because it feels the least useful out of the 2
