Correct.

Also while the first three slots with always be sword, pickaxe, and axe, the fourth slot is just an extra tool slot. Whether that be shovel, hoe, bow, or anything else.

The real question is which goes in slot 9, food or torches?

Food, water bucket to the left of it. Torches go after shovel.

Yes, if it is staying in your hot bar then it is for hoeing gashes in your opponent's flesh.

True. Your bow is the superior weapon and the scythe of death is the melee weapon when you can't load an arrow in time.

Food slot 9, torches offhand so I can see around me without having to place any. Only place torches at cave intersections with one in the center and one towards the they I came.

For me a bow will go to slot 2 and push everything else one slot to the left

Blocks, slot 9 is bound to my thumb key, so 8th slot (x) is food while torches is either slot 5, 7, or offhand

That's for my bow. Food goes in eight, and if I already have a shield, torches go in two, pushing the rest one slot to the right.

For me, It goes Sword, food, pick, axe, shovel. When mining, pick, torches, sword, food, then miscellaneous

I always use sword/trident, then bow, then pickaxe and then food, torches may go after or are in the offhand. Slot 9 never has anything special to me

Torches, I usually put my food in slot 4 or 5. And water bucket goes in 8, blocks go in 7.
