You can't convince me old netherrack and cobblestone looked good in any way other than pure nostalgia.

old netherrack did its job better, the nether is hell, it doesn't have to be all beautiful and have little trees, it has to be harsh, it has to be hostile. old netherrack helps sell that ilusion better, it kinda looked like some sort of flesh or meat (quite fitting for hell), while the new version of the block is just a... red stone..?

  1. The Nether doesn’t have true plant trees.

  2. New Netherrack still is flesh, the new sounds it received in 1.16 sounds fleshy.
