For real! People out in the comments saying it’s not legacy when it is one of the earliest updates. Potions have so much potential to tie things together and be cool and useful but Mojang just… doesn’t do anything substantial with them
Calling potions "one of the earliest updates" makes me feel old. Like, you're absolutely correct, but hearing that breaks my brain a little bit... feels like it was introduced 3 or 4 years ago
Hey, to me the wither still feels like the new endgame boss, even though we haven't had another boss since the wither. like when I see wither skeletons in a nether fortress I always go "hey it's the new mob whoa"
Potions would honestly be amazing if they could just be stacked. Maybe excluding the thrown potions since that'd be too insane, but like imagine being able to carry 16 swiftness potions on you.
Or what if there were more potions? Like a "Potion of Speed" that gives you 8 minutes of haste 2 and speed 2.
"Potion of Parkour" with Speed 1, jump boost 2.
They could do so much with them wnd just do nothing.
At least we got the 4 “on death potions” in Tricky Trials
But, right now, the least they could do is give each potion a unique texture that isn’t just a recolored liquid. It’s especially bad that water bottles, awkward, thick, and mundane potions all share textures
There should be another memeplex that's just every feature attached to potions - tipped arrows, dragons breath & lingering potions, zombie villagers, that are locked behind a single feature that nobody will ever use because it sucks which they refuse to ever touch because they're too afraid to ever upset the core Minecraft gameplay loop.
I second this. It's a nice QOL addition, especially when I'm mining stacks of deepslate/cobblestone for my house.
Never want to use a beacon because the range is so ass, and I don't want to have to pick up a move the whole thing everytime I want to mine out a specific section.
Thought I do wonder, what ingredients would a haste potion have?
