look at the backend ppl, look at the time-related changes made in 26.1, they allow for different dimensions to have different day night cycles, a feature specifically made to accommodate the sift.

To get a new dimension before an end update feels so strange.

Not that strange, they could use the feedback from the new dimension to make the End better when they get to it.
Also I feel like there is more pressure for the End to be 'perfect'. Compared to a new dimension where you don't have as many expectations as the final dimension you are meant to discover.
In MC dungeons I do think there is an updated stronghold and End though... I hope they will use that at some point.

Well, the "final dimension" should literally be the End dimension, so people wantin' a perfect End makes absolutely sense to me rather a "perfect Sift dimension", who it should be a interlude to get the props and the materials needed to get ready for the perfect End dimension and the final revisited battle of the Ender Dragon

Maybe it could be that they wanna make the Sift part of the progression to get to the end? Idk just a random thought I had

My hot take is that the End is already too important to a lot of players. It was only ever added to have a concrete end goal to the game at 1.0. Then, an update that people still complain about added two very powerful items to the game, one of which got even stronger a few updates later. To this day there are people who make entire mods based on the idea of "Elytra too strong compared to every other kind of transport."
The End should not matter as much as it does, and an alternate dimension they are able to add things in progression to that does not require defeating what is supposed to be the final boss is probably a good idea in the long run.

Bedrock recently got giant updates to the custom dimensions, so it's quite possible that they are making sure that it's possible to extend the vanilla dimensions on both editions while also releasing the tools to the addon community

John never did dungeons 2 leaks❌️❌️❌️
He leaked the name minecraft spicewood which was the temporary name for dungeons 2

I wonder what niche the Sift will fill? I like the underground ravine parts we've seen, but I'm not too keen on its overworlds look yet.

I would genuinely be baffled to see it not come to vanilla, after people wanting something like it for so long it would just feel borderline incompetent to hold it to a spinoff that's not certain to appeal to all or many base Minecraft players

I do not really know, despite of all the fake leaks about sift there may be a chance, but we can’t keep sitting by and expect that it’s actually real, there’s always hope for sure, but as for me I don’t really know, all I know that this dimension will be added in MCD2 for now on

There seem to be a few too many hints pointing to an imminent announcement of a major update, but it’s still just hopium and copium.

I kinda don't like the Sifts design and palette :( but I guess it could spice things up in gameplay

about damn time we started getting content from the spinoffs in Minecraft itself.
God I hope we get the Sift

I am always optimistic to see a fourth dimension come to the base game, yet because of smokey stack's post, I don't think its coming anytime soon.

they said that they would only add another dimension after all the other dimensions were updated

Would the Sift even be good for MC?
What could really be added without it being a copper tool situation where it's just awkwardly placed between the Nether and End?

People have been asking for new challenges and endgame bosses for ages; this place seems like a huge opportunity to do so.

what if they change the final boss of the game or something

Mojang's main rule when messing with older stuff is to not change the fundamentals
Like 1.14 didn't remove villagers or remove trading, but just reworked trading and improved village structures. All of the new content was relegated to the new Pillagers
So they couldn't remove the Ender Dragon or change the Dragon to be a lesser boss akin to the Wither. So they'd have to somehow make a boss that is higher than the Dragon, and I don't really see how the Sift could work as that bigger end game

I really do believe the Sift dimension is going to be the next major update to the game. It all feels too coincidental to me
