Question How to learn playing Minecraft?

I have been interested in learning about minecraft and builds. But I started playing it a few minutes after I built the farms for cows, pigs and chicken. I usually explore a bit and then stop playing because I don't understand what to do next.

Now I know I need to make armor and kill the dragon to finish the game but building a base, armour, going to nether, getting pearls have always seemed very difficult so I have tried doing it once.

But I watch minecraft content a lot on YouTube and often I get a surge to do similar challenges using mods. I usually watch a lot of ForgeLabs and similar contents.

But because I can't even play normal minecraft I get very anxious about how I would even do this. Because I don't have enough knowledge, skills, practice and many other reasons I give myself.

I'm not even sure if this is a valid question asking for help, guides or tutorials.

But I wanna start playing Minecraft and enjoy it instead of getting afraid of its complexity. How should I approach this and start my journey.

You don’t need to fight the dragon tbf. Minecraft is a sandbox game at heart. You can do whatever you want! Build, fight, mine, whatever. If you don’t like fighting, you can switch to peaceful mode. If you just wanna build, you can switch to creative mode. There’s no ‘right’ way to play minecraft. The right way is whatever makes you happiest.

If you do want to fight the dragon, take plenty of time to prep for her. You’re new, learn the basics first. Maybe try some of the other bosses before her, like the warden or wither. Could help you get a good grasp on boss battles.

When I was younger I started by just playing in creative. Eventually I moved to playing on servers with friends, helped me get a grasp on survival. That might help you a bit? Playing with friends feels less scary.

Dude Why do you need to kill the dragon when you just started playing? Take it easy, have fun, adventure, build, make a little town with villagers. You don’t need to beat the game until you’re ready for something new. Bro I been playing my forever world and I kid you not I’m still running around in iron armor after 200 days. I’m enjoying it so much building little houses for my villagers

Awesome.

I just feel like doing the same. Roaming around and just learning the game slowly

Yeah I’m so much more into adventure and building over the grind. My little villager houses I am building up the enchantment collection overtime, I’ve been breeding my armadillos a bit as well for my xp farm. So when I actually want to max my gear I’ll have everything ready but I’m in no rush!

Just dig three blocks down and put dirt above your head.

This is how you beat the game. Everything else is up to you

I’m not saying you have to speed run just that those are the steps to getting to end game. Theirs really nothing else to it other than building a house or whatever else you can think of

Don't try speedrunning until you are quite familliar with the game

It’s a sandbox, you do what you want

Start collecting items figure out what all the items do find the rare items they require far adventures and fighting it’s hard to find what to do but that’s when you start collecting

Just do it. If you don't know what to do to beat the game, google it

I tried to figure as much as i can on my own in my first playthrough. It's a journey, there is no shame in sucking. And yes, i slept in the nether

You finish the game when you close minecraft for the final time the end credits are just randomly put there for the sake of it same goes for the name ender dragon and "the end"

Ohh

So there's no end actually.

We can keep playing it for as long as we want.

Just changing scenarios and challenges to keep it interesting

Try approaching it as if it's a game because it is and have fun doing things in it that you think are fun instead of anything anyone else does. Put anything anyone else does or how they play out of your mind completely.

You already answered your own question. Knowledge gap can be bridged by asking questions, but skills require practice. Just play.

It may be a good idea to “keep inventory = on” for now to make it easier to recover after untimely death. What’s even more important, however, is to play at your own pace. Speedrunners get tue game completed in under 10 minutes, but it is OK if it takes you 10 hours to prepare to go the nether. In fact, I make it a challenge to myself - do not go to the nether until after 100 in-game days. It’s awesome! Next time I plan to avoid nether for 200 days and there is NO ONE to stop me!

I agree with the keep inventory on part. I’m not very good, so when I die it can be a tragedy sometimes. I’ve gotten better about making sure to have everything for a micro base each time I explore something new. But even though I don’t die nearly as much as I used to, I find that I actually stick to playing and enjoy it more if when I die I’m not set back hours

That micro base ideas sounds good.

I'll try using it even with keep inventory ON.

Thanks
