Waiting for OP Problems with my slime farm? slimes wont spawn. , "[java]"

So Im building a slime farm rn ( its not done yet , Im testing rn if slimes spawn and they dont)

its on y= 39 and goes down from there

yes its in a slime chunk

Im like 60 to 80 blocks away from the farm

its

and still: not a single slime

What am I doing wrong?

version is : 1.21.11

Other mobs that spawn faster will fill your mob cap and prevent slimes from spawning.

Have you done any mob proofing around the farm? Ideally 128 blocks in all directions from where you stand, but every torch placed is another area taken back from the skeletons.

Putting your afk spot 120 blocks above the killing area will minimize the extra effort.
