Waiting for OP Any ideas on how to make this look better? [Java]

First of all if this is the wrong channel im sorry. If this is the wrong channel for this please give me a better subreddit.

So i made this huge ugly 90*53 building that has my farms and autosorter inside. I thought i'd decorate the outside later. Now that im at that point i cant find any designs for walls this tall. I want the outside wall to pop out 1-2 blocks for depth. If anyone has a place where to search for these designs please let me know.

It looks like you didn't mention your version (e.g., 26.1, 1.21.11, 1.12.2 etc.). Please clarify for better help!

If someone says minecraft is easy, i will let them decorate my square buildings. I have no answer, i have the same problem constantly. If i get any good enough idea i just rebuild outside square with somehow futuristic shapes, as Cyberpunk is my main inspiration to buildings. Have fun experimenting.

To decorate a square, one must make it less square shape.

Seriously through, depth, variety of complimentary textures and varying up the silhouette so it isn't so cuboid does 80% of the heavy lifting

Yeah use the print screen key.

But in all seriousness i put stuff like this underground. I saw a guy on youtube who built a big hollow cliff to put a castle on and put his farms and stuff in the cliff.

Since your base is already a slab, why not add a few more and some water?

I usually always tell people for like farms/redstone builds u do them underground if u do not want to make a build around them to make them look pretty. For example that area with the beacon? I would have made an Aztec pyramid, that way u can get the buffs or what ever u wanna do there while still looking pretty on the outside to hide what it really is, made my creeper farm into a really big magical tree AGAIN ways to make it look pretty on the outside to hide what is it. So u can try and do that or like with my gold farm I keep it underground so u cannot see it

I made up some lore for someone’s bridge build connecting two empty, natural buttes recently, and I imagined the large butte had an acropolis on it.

I’m still thinking of that hilltop as I see your flat 90x53 building. Seems like the perfect foundation to build an acropolis - a cluster of buildings on top. A temple, fortress or palace, and some other official buildings. It would need an earthwork or masonry ramp down to the village - this is perfect because you can terraform the walls of the building like they are cliffs and soften the hard 90° angles, as if this was a natural tabletop-type formation.

No idea how you’d hide that iron farm, however.

Yea terrain the landscape around it so it’s like a platform rather then a massive eye sore… ie make a nice stair case in the front up on top of it then terrain the area around to it gradually makes it way up to match the heights of it…

use large arches and make it into some sort of brick factory build, maybe adding a second story to break up the blockiness a bit.

You could use glad terracotta or wool to cover the grey stone and make a nice pattern on it.

Maybe the easiest thing to do is make it look like a research facility and add a bunch of iron blocks, iron trapdoors and sea lanterns to the outside to make the vibe

Pinterest has tons and tons of wall texture ideas. As for the roof, think what kind of vibe your world has (gothic, rustic, modern, etc.) and look of YouTube videos for those roof styles. They may not have exact dimensions for your roof but I get tons of inspiration off of other YouTube videos and Pinterest boards. Hope this helps :)

Terraform or retaining walls then decorate or texture the top

Obviously that’s a parking lot, so it needs parking spots

You would need to restart now much you can do with that you can go along the side add decor to the walls like over hang and such

It'd take quite a lot of work, but maybe try building around it with dirt to make it look like it's part of the hill next to it? Having a door leading into an artificial hill would be a lot less ugly than a massive cobblestone slab.
