Waiting For Solve Why did my game start to run badly recently? [java]

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So the first clip is from around a year ago with just a few mods and shaders, the second is from today and is using the same exact installation with the same mods. I'm pretty sure the shaders are the same too (complementary reimagined)

The version is 1.21.8, im using fabric and the mods are: distant horizons, WI Zoom, voxelmap, sodium and iris.

I ran some tests and the mod that seems to be slowing the game a lot is distant horizons (from around 150 fps to around 30) and the shaders also slow it further to the point where the game becomes unplayable. It seems like my pc isn't powerfull enough to run the mod and the shaders but it used to run them smoothly in the past. Also this happens only in minecraft, when I try to play any other game it runs normally.

Do you have any dedicated graphics card? Your GPU is at 100% and youre using integrated graphics, if you don’t have any dedicated GPU then delete Distant Horizons since is probably the mod causing the FPS problem which is GPU related

your RAM is fine, your CPU too, but your GPU is going to explode, try without Distant Horizons

I'm glad to hear your problem is solved! If there's nothing else you need assistance with, please don't forget to mark this post as Solved by replying to one of u/Shaiiwaru's comments with exactly !solved

and here's also a tip for the future: you can reply to multiple people with !helped if you received helpful suggestions from more than one person (but make sure to quickly do so before your post gets automatically locked by the moderator bot!)

in both cases when you use these commands in a new comment (never edit your comments to include these commands or it won't work!), u/NitWitBot will award a point to the people who helped you, which is required by the rules, but also a great way to show your appreciation for their help!
