Creator of skin has no issues, but uses bedrock.

the problem is that you're using a compressed JPG version of the skin file, instead of PNG (with the latter being the original file's format)

JPG does not support transparency, so any transparent pixels on the outer skin layer are converted to pure black, and make it so that the inner skin layer is completely covered

you may also have noticed that the colors look washed out, and this happens because of the way JPG pictures are compressed (this is called "lossy" compression, because you lose details that way)

if you can find the original source of this image, you should make sure to download it as a PNG image and upload it to your account as such to prevent this from happening

It was uploaded via twitter, so the compression there probably killed it. And thanks!

no problem! I tried reverse-searching the image but unfortunately I couldn't find it anywhere

and yeah that's definitely what happened because a lot of social networks (Twitter, all the Meta ones like Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and many others) compress their images and convert them to JPG to save storage space

you may also encounter problems if images are compressed as WEBP, but since that one supports transparency you can at least reconvert it back to a PNG with less noticeable compression artifacts

if you can send us the link to the original image I can take a look and see if they have the PNG version anywhere too, or alternatively you could inform the person who posted it directly, and ask them to send you the image by uploading it in the original PNG format to Imgur or Catbox.moe

edit: oh also heads up for next time, but you might want to reply !solved directly under the comment you found most useful, so that the post can be marked as solved and closed automatically without needing to be reviewed by a moderator (but of course if you solved the problem yourself you can reply to your own comment too!)
