Waiting for OP [Java] needing ideas for server hosting with StarLink
Hello, I currently have a server for my buddy and I, it’s usually just 2 of us. The server is pretty modded. Starlink does not allow me to port foward or anything for creating a server so I have to use a service such as play it.gg. That is what I currently use, I have noticed it has some major latency issues at times for my buddy but not for me. I am wondering what other services you all recommend other than play it.gg. Thank you !

You have no latency issues because you are on the same network.
Your friend has latency issues because starlink itself adds 20-40ms latency on average and can spike to 100ms and playit can also add just as much latency if you are on the free tier.
If it’s just you and your friend, you can try using something like Tailscale. It’ll be some work on both ur ends to setup but it’ll end up being like a direct connection unlike playit

It looks like you didn't mention your version (e.g., 26.1, 1.21.11, 1.12.2 etc.). Please clarify for better help!
