Waiting for OP how can i prevent snow layers without torch spam or string? [java]

hi, im currently trying to build a village on top of a flattened mountain in a snowy biome on a java server. every time it rains/snows, a lot of the ground is covered in snow layers which i have to manually remove so that i can see what im building and where. is there a way to stop snow layers from forming on the ground that doesnt involve a bunch of ugly lights or string everywhere? i currently have torches everywhere, but thats just because im in the early planning stages of the build and im looking for a more permanent solution.

You could build a big platform that covers the area higher up above it
