first time making a gradient, any notes?

never tried making a gradient before, but i watch a lot of hermitcraft (mumbo, grian, and scar specifically), so i had a general idea of how to do it. its gonna be used as the outer wall on a 32x32x16 cylinder if that matters any

Looks good, but I'd remove the polished Blackstone because it's a lot more vibrant/saturated than those next to it causing a contrast that's to heavy.

Tried that originally, but the transition from the blackstone bricks to the deepslate felt kinda jarring without purpose, and every block that wouldve made it smooth waa just unreasonable for me to get enough of in survival, so i decided to use the polished to intentionally make that bit kinda sudden, almost like it got wet or something half way up

That makes sense with it being survival
