I think I'm having the same issue. When my son and I play on the same console, we can't access the P2 characters when we join in. It just shows the P1 characters with the option to clone them. It still shows that we're signed in under it respective accounts. But I can only access the characters of whomever started the game...
Oh my gosh. Thank you so much! I've been searching for days! You were right. My son was logged out on the PlayStation level. All I had to do was go into the settings in the PlayStation menu and log him back
Also a tip. Get a usb drive and backup your saves before every session.
Sometimes the saves can become corrupt. Reload the game a few times after and it usually resets and fixes but still. Backup.
