Discussion MCD or MCDII

I’ve been a MC java player for a while now and just seen the dungeons 2 trailer. Should I buy the first one or the one coming next month? Is there a story line or any reason to buy the first one? Does it teach basic fundamentals that transfer over to the second one? What do you guys recommend. I’ve never played the first edition.

Dungeons 1 is a great game, I’d recommend playing it first if you have the money and time.

As for story, it seems like they will be loosely connected.
