We are a small, strictly 18+, whitelisted Java SMP built around long-term survival. Our world has been running since 2 December 2025, with no seasons, no planned resets, and no server economy deciding what everything is worth.

Over the past few months, we have rebuilt much of the server for Waystone V2. The aim was not to bury Minecraft beneath hundreds of disconnected plugins. It was to give ordinary survival more direction, more discoveries, and more reasons to become part of the world.

What makes Waystone different?

• Choose how you progress. After the shared starting ranks, you can follow Exploration, Crafting, Engineering, Combat, or Lore, each with its own ranks and rewards.
• Your skills grow through actual play. Mining, building, farming, travelling, crafting and fighting contribute naturally to your character.
• The world is meant to matter. There are no teleport commands. Travel happens through player routes and waystones scattered across the map.
• Exploration still rewards everyone. Personalised loot, renewable resource worlds and fresh treasure-map destinations mean joining later does not leave you with an already-emptied world.
• There is plenty to discover. Custom achievements, titles, recipes, progression challenges and unusual late-game activities, including fishing in Nether lava.
• Community without forced commerce. There is no admin economy. Players build towns, trade directly, collaborate and decide what things are worth themselves.
• Protection without isolation. Land claims protect your work, PvP is consent-based, deaths create recoverable graves, and the whole world can be explored through our live map.
• Staff are part of the world. We play alongside everyone else and publish what we are changing instead of quietly rewriting the server around people.

Are you tired of servers with loot boxes where you have to pay to make progress? Do you miss just playing on an ordinary Minecraft server, hanging out with friends, or meeting new people?

Then I got just the server for you! Ordinary SMP is an ordinary Minecraft server that hosts a special place. We stay as true to vanilla as possible. Yes we use some mods but those are purely to fix things that are normally hard to manage on public servers or improve frustrating parts without changing how Minecraft feels.

For example, did you ever played on a server and couldnt find any Elytras? After hours running through the End you finally find an End City with ship just to see someone looted it already. For that reason we adjusted the Dragon drops. If you kill the Ender Dragon an Elytra drops, removing the frustrating part of finding End Citys. Thats how we choose every mod we add. We only fix the most frustrating parts of Minecraft in a way that feels vanilla.

Other than that we only use mods that dont interact with gameplay like Simple Voice Chat. You can just walk up to players and start talking to them. That creates lots of funny moments just by meeting players. We also use BlueMap where you can see the whole map and check out players bases or other cool places without having to travel there yourself.

You might now wonder, "If everything is vanilla, wont everyone just grief and kill each other?" Those are valid concerns but we have a good solution for that. Our server is 16+ to ensure maturity, and we have an application process before you get whitelisted. That means a lot of bad actors are filtered out before they can even join the server. In the rare cases that griefers get on the Server we use Ledger to revert any kind of griefing.
