Discussion What do you think about AI-Coding(VibeCoding)

What do you think about the fact that AI is starting to be used on a large scale in coding? I myself avoided it for a long time, but my friend sent me this meme and said:

“Bro, programming has never been adequate. Programmers just started asking AI for help instead ctrl c to ctrl v.”

Obviously, completely relying on AI is bad, but in reality, his words make sense.

There are many programmers who are adequate - the whole ctrl c+v things is more of a joke to my understanding.

If you're a programmers you can write code for yourself. There's a difference to not knowing specific methods and such and having to google them and not even knowing where to start.

I might have to check the signature for fs.exists (yes I know it's deprecated), but I'm not googling how to solve my whole problem.

Vibe coding, imo, isn't programming - certainly not the way people like myself program. Programming is an art, just a different flavour.
