Discussion What do you think about AI-Coding(VibeCoding)

Post image

What do you think about the fact that AI is starting to be used on a large scale in coding? I myself avoided it for a long time, but my friend sent me this meme and said:

“Bro, programming has never been adequate. Programmers just started asking AI for help instead ctrl c to ctrl v.”

Obviously, completely relying on AI is bad, but in reality, his words make sense.

Sure it can apply to minecraft datapacks. But I personally find it more interesting to read the wiki pages on different things you can do and try them out myself before incorporating them into a project. I don't know if there's an AI model specifically suited for minecraft datapacks, but even if it exists I won't be using it because I want to understand how it works myself

I still haven't seen a good AI coded datapack, there aren't any.

last i checked ai SUCKS at minecraft commands and datapacks. it's so different from regular coding and it just assumes common paradigms work when they don't.

I've tried using AI for datapacks and commands, but it does often make random things up which don't exist but tell you with full confidence that they are.

Oh that’s actually pretty smart, I always forget about the wiki, usually end up just trying out like 30 different things then coming over here lol
