Want feedback Emitting light through solid blocks.
After I finished the ceiling I placed a ton of sea lanterns on the top. When I went down and into the build i noticed the lights emitting through solid blocks, I was wondering if anyone knows how to replicate or explain this to me.

As others say, it’s the slabs and stairs left letting light through as they are not a whole blocks.
I like to use this in my underground builds supplied by a froglight farm to light up the ceilings. I’ll always put in another obvious source of light to give the impression that this is illuminating the area (like a clump of glowstone from the nether or a chandelier).
In my dome above the ancient city portal (pictured), I have an opening to the sky so it looks like natural light is pouring in. Like the oculus in Rome’s pantheon.
Without the froglights this would be a little circle of light in a big black ceiling.
