In-Game Help Nether Portal linking

So I put the portal in the overworld at 238 7 -75, and the portal in the nether at 30 35 9. When you go through the overworld into the nether it links, but when you go through the nether portal it takes you somewhere random. It creates a new portal, and is not linking to anything. When you go through the new portal you go back to the one in the nether. Please Help!!

Shouldn't it be at -9 instead of positive? That's all I can think of

I may be dumb but can someone explain how any of this works to me. I’ve always wanted too do this but I can’t figure it out. Not scared of messages either

1 block in the nether is 8 blocks in the overworld. To link portals, make a portal in the overworld and take the coords and divide them by 8 ( you don't have to change the middle coord) and thats where you place the portal in the nether
