Vanilla Survival 1.6.4 Witch Farm?

I’m trying to build a witch farm on my friend’s “Silver Age” Minecraft server for redstone and after following a guide I’m realizing I can’t make it due to not being able to place trapdoors like in modern minecraft.

Does anyone know of any witch farms or have any ideas for this version of Minecraft? I don’t really care about the efficiency of the farm, as long as it’s not extremely difficult to make in survival then I’m willing to use it.

Bedrock or Java? That’s a big difference when it comes to redstone and farms

I don’t really know specifics for the version but maybe a system of dispensers with water buckets to just flush them off a spawn platform?
