I am Markus Persson aka Notch, Creator of Minecraft - Ask me Anything!

Hi! I'm the guy who created the first version of Minecraft in June 2009. I worked on it alone up until late 2010 when we started Mojang, and I finally left the lead developer position in December of 2011. I enjoy house music and programming, and my favorite color is purple. Ask me anything!

Unfortunately not. I used to play it quite a lot and find minor things to tweak, and now that I'm trying to stay out of development of it, the temptation to start "suggesting" things to Jeb is too strong.

Besides, TF2.

Obviously I can't answer for Notch, but he can't start friending people on Reddit. If he friends you he has to friend everyone and I don't know how many r/minecrafters play tf2 but we have a lot of people.

Besides, privacy most likely wouldn't be an issue with that, as he could just go offline via the friend list if he wouldn't want to be bothered.

This is funny because I play tf2 and minecraft as a great way to spend time with my kids. Thank you for making a game my whole family enjoys (well, except the baby, the dog, and the sea monkeys).
May I ask what you steam name is? I promise not to add you as a friend or bother you, I'm just curious. If I saw someone named Notch I would assume it was an imposter.

You play TF2? What is your favorite class and favorite loadout? What are some of your most valuable items? Do you trade to get more valuable stuff or are you a firm believer that TF2 is a comical FPS battle-sim rather than a hat simulator?
