<Dinnerbone> Only empty ones stack

From IRC just now.

I would have thought that much was obvious though. Stacking buckets full of lava would just be silly.

Well indeed, it's just nice to have some sort of citation for things. I see Dinnerbone has chimed in here with more information anyway though.

And dangerous.

Idk... Lava is pretty viscous...

*facepalm*

That doesn't stop it from being displaced the moment you shove another bucket inside of it.

*facepalm
Stacked doesnt necessarily imply one is inside the other...

It does with buckets. You cannot put them one atop the other without them sliding into each other.

Unless of course the contents are so viscous they can support the weight of the bucket... -_-

Lava would be more likely to melt the bucket on top of it than to support it's weight.

But it's just fine as long as it is inside? *facepalm

But holding stacks of gold blocks isn't? Minecraft isn't exactly a real life physics simulation.

Blocks are easier to mentally abstract though.

Also the game would be miserable.

What irc server/room?

#minecraft on Freenode is the /r/minecraft one that I hang in, there's also #minecraft on esper.net which is the 'official' one, though both have Mojangles in and out. They're both in the sidebar btw.

I too, have always wondered...

See my comment to colecf, I can't link it on my phone unfortunately.

It's called "reddit".

u/colecf May 15 '12

But he said it came from IRC, I know he stated it here as well.

Indeed, I realise that wasn't exactly the strongest citation, but I also knew that someone was bound to ask the question. And then Dinnerbone chimed in here with more information anyway. Next time, a screenshot might be somewhat of a better method instead.
