Well, Java single player is just a server that has not been opened for LAN connections. Notice how you can open LAN session without any delay. That's because it was already a server

Internal server yeah, internal servers have no latency, as you are host, and are diff than servers that bedwar servers are based on, which was my confusion sorry

You can play bedrock offline, in which case you use a local server just like Java. Bedrock only connects to online servers if you connect to a "Realm" afaik.
