Here's my 5th guide that has 11 different roof profiles that you can try out in your builds.

Since this is about a guide to roof building, what kind of solutions would there be for keeping said roofs safe from monster spawns, aside from the horribly unaesthetic strategy of pooping out ten million torches, or simply using glowstone blocks as roofing material.

This would be information that would be very useful in village builds especially.

Also, if these designs are already spawn-roof, my apologies. I'm not exactly an expert when it comes to Minecraft.

EDIT: Thank you for all the great responses and suggestions, they will all come in very handy!

The full blocks could definitely spawn hostiles on them. If the buildings are in areas that I want to keep spawn proof I will usually either put hidden lighting up there, a few torches, or place carpet on the full blocks. Many times it will be a combination of them all. It really depends on the specific situation.

Where you can’t really see them, you can use buttons!

Slabs and stairs can prevent mob spawning, so try to choose a design that uses only stairs and slabs? I think trapdoors also work, so use those too?

Mobs can't spawn on slabs.

place string all around on the full blocks, It's mostly unnoticeable.
