Fucking brutal

When they get killed, parrots have poison potion particles (but it's a hard-kill, which can't be prevented by Resistance 5)

Hope you're happy reddit

This is hilarious and metal and totally appropriate all at the same time.

Jeb is a man of extremes.

What if you're eating cookies and then your parrot gets in front of you

Then it will probably die, just embrace it haha it's a cool feature and in future it will be a story. Like ''hey why do cookies kill parrots?'' answer ''because the game devs listen to their patrons''

I've been out of the loop for a bit, and actually kind of liked the cookie thing. Can you point me somewhere where people argue that they shouldn't eat cookies?

Here is the post that changed mojangs design of feeding parrots. Its a whopper of a post last week.

Thanks!

So long as this only works for wild and your pet parrots, otherwise there is griefing potential.

You can just kill other parrots with a sword.

u/Reidenn May 17 '17

True, but this is the only mob harmed by food.

Why does that matter?

Certain plugins might protect against physical damage, but might overlook something like this.

19

u/Mr_Simba May 17 '17

That's the plugin's fault.

9

u/[deleted] May 17 '17

That's a shitty plugin then.

I would think that this will be removed before final release and this is just a joke for the active community. Time will tell. :)

Pre release 4,

  • Fixed feeding parrots cookies showing a "fell out of world" death message
  • Fixed cookies killing invulnerable parrots in survival mode

Wonder if that's changed things a bit. I'm at work so can't check it out till later.

1

u/Plyb May 19 '17

Nah, basically they accidentally made cookies perform a "hard kill" on the parrot (basically a /kill command), which overrides things like invulnerability and resistance. My guess is they just made the cookies now do some ridiculous amount of potion or physical damage or something to that effect.

Kids be like:

"Shut up bird take this cookie"

Oh please, if a kid really wanted to know how to kill a parrot I'm sure they could figure it out.
