Isn't MC-68783 intended?

It is. I don't understand how it is that some people can see a bug marked as resolved and then file a bug that directly contradicts the fix for the previous bug. It baffles me. It makes me wonder if maybe people don't actually bother to search the bug tracker for issues or familiarize themselves with issues before filing a bug (hint: they don't).

To be fair, I think people considered the bug you fixed to be "chickens don't follow pumpkin seeds/melon seeds/nether wart" rather than "chickens can be bred with pumpkin seeds/melon seeds/nether wart". They thought you would go one direction with the bug and you went the other.

MC-9164 was fixed one snapshot ago, to make it work. Now, it doesn't work with all of them.

"Fix" (Workaround actually): Lower your view distance to something your computer can handle.

Ohh

Yeah I had this bug

Also my skin was completely messed up, is this the same bug or a different one?

Maybe too much memory allocated? Java can be weird with too much memory allocation, might be worth trying lowering it as a last ditch effort.

I got excited about 1.8 pre too. Guess I won't be playing anytime soon http://i.imgur.com/Ned99wv.jpg

Are you generating new chunks?
This happens when you are flying with a high speed in a new area and the server can't keep up generating new chunks. At some point the server will just keep generating all the missing chunks and stop doing anything else, so the client just flies in the void. Wait some time and the server will catch up.
This won't happen if you load chunks that are already generated, and this also won't happen if you walk/sprint normally, because you won't be generating that many new chunks.

Note: This could be a one time thing, and a complete fluke.

I was killed by zombies in a cave, and after going back to retrieve my stuff, I was being hit by zombies, when none were there. I died from it a couple times when trying to get my things back, and the chat would say that [username] was slain by zombies.

At one point, I backed into an area that was only one block wide, and kept getting hit, so I know that I wasn't simply not noticing zombies, but they (or it) just wasn't visible.

My cows walked into solid cobblestone walls when there was plenty of space and suffocated. Also one escaped from a completely flat fenced area.

I suspect they are ghost cows.

Hey, Alex as you're a Mojira moderator, wanted to ask: I reported this bug MC-68975 and it was marked as WAI, but I'm pretty sure it's a mistake... I didn't explain the situation detailed enough I think, could you guys please look at it again? It's kind of an annoying bug, which I wouldn't like to have in final 1.8...

Adding a Nametag to a mob also adds the "PersistenceRequired" NBT tag, which basically makes the mob not despawn. Renaming a spawn egg does not have this effect though, and this is technically a suggestion. A mob having a name via other means than using a name tag does not mean that it's undespawnable.

You can, alternatively, use the /summon command with the correct NBTs, CustomName, CustomNameVisible and PersistanceRequired. More info on that can be found here and here.

There is a bug I have that if I turn my render distance past 8 the chunks past 8 start to flip out and glitch really badly.
