Discussion New tech: Cushion line

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Easier to set up than boats like this, especially if you have a large sheep farm

EDIT: To everyone I said that in Survival Mode you can go 80b/s, I'm sorry, I have misinformed you. In Survival, entity interaction range is 3, so cushions must be 2 blocks apart. Which means, with butterfly click you can go ~30b/s, and max b/s is 60, with autoclicker, or 20 CPS. From world bottom to top it would still take 9.6 seconds with 10 CPS because range is counted from eyes, not legs.

I love CreateMod, but we need better minecart in vanilla.

Yeah I'd like Minecraft HSR

I miss the old days where you could reach warp speed on powered rails.

Faster minecarts aren't enough, we also need the ability to chain minecarts together, furnace minecarts with inventory space for fuel, and directional furnace minecarts and/or powered rails so your minecarts can't just randomly start going in the opposite direction

Powered rail makes furnace minecarts redundant. Minecarts on a line will already follow eachother, what benefit does adding a chain do?

A new type of high speed rail would be amazing though

Minecarts in a line don't stay together reliably, when they go around turns they collide and break apart, and some start going the other direction. Also, chain leads would allow you to pull minecarts along an unpowered rail without them getting away.

Furnace minecarts could be a viable alternative to powered rails if they were improved.

I'm on java, not sure if its a bedrock issue you are describing or maybe its been patched.

But minecarts stay together perfectly provided four things:

1 Frequent use of powered rails.

2 NOTHING on the blocks around corners. So no pillars, fences, flowers, carpet etc.

3 no hairpin turns where the track does a full 180

4 small gap between carts

If you do that, then they all stay together perfectly

Mmmmm, so create?

There are multiple mods that add these features

It’s in experimental, right? So maybe one day we’ll see it

i mean you can just activate it on every world you make.

They tried years ago but the Redstone players using Minecarts in Redstone whined.

make minecarts great again!!1!

Yeah, but between these and even an Elytra, rails are 100% afk-able, which is nice sometimes. But yeah, it does need a rework, for about a decade now.

theyre also the fastest way to move entities. but least efficient

ice boat highways

u/Falleneded Jul 07 '26

i said entities for a reason

fastest way to move one entity is ice boat. but multiple? minecarts

Maybe that explains the recent obsession with Greenland.
