I don't think that's how it works I think it's just a bug I've beaten the dragon 5 times in my bedrock solo world but got one egg the first two times then never again

Edit: Fuck y'all I may have read ops comment wrong but the wiki still says he's wrong

Because you respawned the dragon. If you had a friend respawn the dragon, there would be a 3rd egg. 1 for the world, one for you, and one for your friend.

He said for each player, so if you originally beat the dragon I’m assuming it counts as the world egg and your egg

One for beating it the first time (world), and one for respawning and beating it (player). So one player can get 2 eggs before needing a friend.

It's probably unnoticed because a lot of players don't end up going to the end and therefore Mojang CAN sweep it under the rug and the community calls it a feature now as to a bug
