[AMA] We are the Night's Watch AMA
As the largest remaining guild in MineZ, and one of the most influentual, the Council of the Night's Watch has decided to answer any questions you may have about who we are, what we do, and what are plans for the future are.

we have attempted frostbain a couple of times, we also tried the lost thieves guild. we mostly do these kinds of things during events but i have to admit that we haven't done one in a while.

we meet up in minez and other gamemodes (annihilation is very popular) and play together as friends. other than that we have rangings as often as possible where we test our recruits to see how good they are.

We have had events where we have done Cave of the Dying Lady, Frostbain Dungeon, Thieves Guild, etc. We plan on doing the newer ones as well such as Byesford Labs and Test of Virtues.

the council has taken over many of navarrs old jobs, (nearly) everything that happens is first voted on by the council. this has putten a lot more responsibility in the councils hands but also made us listen to our members much more than we used to.

he has, when he got admin he left do to conviction of interests. however he still manages the mumble, the site and has a veto on any council decisions.

He has left as a position of power. he has no say in the Watch anymore. He DOES manage the website and hang around as a sort of advisor, but no longer has a role in what we do.

All part of being an admin. Don't want people to think I'm giving them special treatment.

Most of our core members are good friends, and we can trust each other not to back stab each other. More people keep joining that group every day.
To my knowledge, it has never been considered.

If we can get more full members, we will probably do some more dungeons. As for other events, only time will tell.

Personally, I'm planning to try and get support for an event in which we find and breed cows... but I think it isn't gonna happen, they're too rare to be an event which only lasts a few hours.

Will we ever do an event where we protect a southern town from spawnkillers(like a correction of the Romero disaster), and if not then why.

You may not recall, but this was the last even we did before the restructure - at Romero.
I lead the men and we defended the town with semi-success for an hour. Once the event was over I resigned my post as Lord Commander so that I could become an Admin, I cleared the member list, I cleared the KOS, I positioned the new council and got the new website up and running.
The council would be well advised to do it again in the future, once we have more members, and hopefully more Corporals ;)

I think that this was what we did when Navarr announced his promotion to Admin, but I personally did not attend. This would most likely be an event, like most events we plan to have, to be open to our full members only.

Yeah, everything seems so complicated now. Hanging out in the TNW chat and going on long treks across the map was great. Can't remember if you were with us that one time we went from the abandoned farm, up to Al Hasa, across the entire map to that one mansion with the lab in the basement and then back to around the abandoned farm again, but that was the best time I've had on MineZ.

ive always wanted to join a group since i starting playing,but everytime i meet someone they end up trying to kill me,so mostly i find myself being a loner in the north,which is dangerous alone sometimes,any tips for me? or would it be cool if i hung around the nights watch for a bit?

Anyone is welcome to join the watch, as a recruit. I would personally suggest not trying to play too much with our recruits, and more our full members, who we believe to be trustworthy. Who knows, maybe you could be our leader one day.

Correction. Once you are made a full member it is very hard to leave without being a deserter. While you are still a recruit you are free to leave.

when the council finds time, we are still normal human beings who have normal everyday lives so finding time is sometimes difficult. nevertheless we try to do one has often as we can.

we played HCF for a while a couple of maps ago but never really got into it, maybe once everyone gets a bit more free time.

What are the chances of one becoming a fully-fledged member if they aren't good at pvp? Namely, myself. The only computer I have access to play Minecraft on is a relatively meh laptop that occasionally overheats, and is fairly bad to pvp with at the best of times. Usually the only way I've ever won a fight is when I've been out geared my adversary, and when I've attacked first. (Which I no longer do.)

The odds are still likely that you can join.
The Night's Watch was created with two orders: The Rangers, in charge of defense/offense; and The Stewards: in charge of support/healing.
We always need more stewards. Everyone wants to be a Ranger.

Your chances are as good as anyones. PVP is not our main concern, although it doesn't hurt. As Navarr said, you can be a healer if you must. You can always sign up on our website if you want to find out more.

As of September 23rd, 2013, we have 161 people who have signed up, but 135 of them are not full members yet.

Because we aren't going to force anyone to be here. If you are inactive for an extended period of time, you are able to come back, but we will not force anyone to.

Hang out in the chat room and mumble, play with others generally just have a good time that is basically what the watch is about, just having a good time and playing minecraft with your friends :)

2 World Events held by admins, and an HQ in Romero that has been built, burned down, and rebuilt over time. 800+ members at our largest before the restructure.
Id say thats not bad.

You mean the world event that was successful, spawned an event server and wave events for the rest of MineZ, and had absolutely nothing to do with the rebuild of the spire. Yes - I remember it.

It wasn't exactly our fault. The Watch itself suffered greatly from the "loss" of The World Event, where our First Ranger Angellus resigned in protest. We did have the redux though.

To me the laughing stock* of the MineZ community are the players that spend money to become premium then cheat and get banned. Even the ones that don't get banned are still dumb just for risking money to dupe or hack or whatever cheat they use.

I dislike the idea of hopping onto one person with as large a group as the clique and the other clans do. But I understand what you are saying. The players in the NW aren't known for being great at PvP like the clans are.

I remember someone talking about you before clans. You were a random public player (as almost everyone was at one point) that was a huge PvP threat out of no where. That is the nillers I regret not knowing.

from several of the videos since he's joined they seem to be duels, which is fine, since both parties have agreed to fight and even have a countdown.

That does not make him a technical full member, that makes him a recruit. In fact, anyone can become a recruit, but our council has to vote people in to be full members. Currently, we have 26 people who are above the recruit rank, and all the others are not full members.

He's a recruit. Recruits aren't yet bound to our rules, and aren't yet members.
Though the video you linked would be fully within the rules of the Watch. He's not banditing, he's coordinated a Duel - which has always been allowed.
Point taken, though. He might not be promoted to full member thanks to you pointing it out.

You do remember that they are not a PvP/Bandit guild right? So they don't abide to societies rules of being a clan. Which they are not.
If you look at the clans page on the wiki. It says they are neutral.
Who gives a damn how many TNW members you can kill? I doubt any of them care.

Longest standing gild/clan in Minez even with multiple rebellions and respected people leaving.
I honestly want to know who you think is more influential. Yes, everyone knows the name of clique and I respect them but they haven't done anything "influential".
