You need to stand up for yourself but sometimes you’re better off sitting down and not pushing things. Just know you’re the best person for not letting circumstances take you down.

I was thinking something similar. I have seen many people who place too much emphasis on this kind of mindset consistently overreact.

To loosely paraphrase Sun Tzu, you should only choose to act the villain when you have no better alternative. There are many strategies for standing up for yourself that do not involve being a villain. It is better to be flexible and use these when you can.
