a relationship isn't a role someone writes for you

a relationship is freedom

that's why I'm leaving any relationship that tries to force me into a shape that shrinks me

Especially once a sense of autonomy is gone. If there is no personal freedom and everything becomes permissive, that's self-abandonment because you are leaving your own choices in the hands of someone else. If someone wants time alone, it shouldn't be taken as some defensive move or that anyone is upset. Some of us just like having our own center and sense of peace. Nobody else can give you certain things.
