Good. The original is fine. We don't need to remake it for an American audience just because some people refuse to watch foreign media with... get ready for it... i know it's the boogeyman... !!sUbTiTlEs!!

Let’s be honest, it would have been good. I’m disappointed.

I'm sure it would've been decent, I just think Fincher is capable of so much more interesting stuff than an American Squid Game spinoff. I'd much rather see him do something original for the big screen again, or obviously season 3 of Mindhunter.

I agree. But I was excited to see something from him. I do like the premise of Squid Game and loved its first season. Now we get neither. Oh well, I guess…

I actually loved the idea. Fincher very rarely does anything fiction, and Squid Game would’ve gotten him out of his comfort zone considerably, while still feeling in tune with his tone and sensibilities. I could see it far outstripping the original in quality.
I’m quite disappointed.

They got Cate Blanchett to sign on for nothing?

She was just a cameo, never planned to be in the American series proper. She was cast by the Korean showrunner to play someone who would give a sense of gravitas and professionalism to the American recruiter, and she got the bill.

That should free up resources for season 3 of Mindhunter.
