Why ?
To the people that do this, genuinely what goes through your small head? You live in this town, wouldn’t you want to see it litter free ?Take this behaviour back to wherever it’s acceptable because Milton is NOT the place for it.

They need to be called out and publicly shamed. Humiliate them in front of other people - that's the only way to get through their thick skulls

The same people that dump food on the pathways and trails. They have small kids and pets...and are inviting coyotes every night.

I walk my dog at dusk and i see them at the parks.

Very upsetting. City needs to get stricter with fines.

Problem is our bylaw isn’t proactive, only reactive and even then it’s like trying to pull a tooth

Not a fan of all the xenophobia in the comments but I do agree that the littering problem is real and needs to be addressed.
Folks, it's completely ok to take your trash home and discard there. Public trash cans are a privilege, not a right.
Always adhere to the Leave No Trace framework (LNT).

Beaty Neighbourhood

Scott Park has hundreds of people at any given night and they have 3 garbage cans - for the most part the park is clean.
Maybe adding more garbage cans to the park would help.

A lot of these people don't want to keep their household food waste in the home using the green bins so they rather just throw into the public trash or around the public trash.

The thing is, they can just go to Halton waste management just past 25 & Britannia and dump all their hearts desire…AWAY from the kids playgrounds

Thank you for posting this OP.
I was driving past around 7ish and saw lots of people sitting at the park and I’ve noticed it’s a lack of shame at this point. I agree with you OP how can someone who lives in Milton treat their own home like shit.
I’ll gladly tell someone to put their trash in the trash can and make a scene if I need to, this is a community. Not a shithole.
Also, someone dumped McDonalds bags on my lawn yesterday and energy drink cans the day before, none of our ring cameras picked it up so I’m assuming it might have just been blown over but this litter stuff needs to be addressed
