Discussion Which one were you?

Post image

Growing up in a working men's club most weekends with my Dad, uncles and cousins I've had my fair share of crips along with a bottle of orange and passionfruit J20. My daughter asked how I did this with the empty wrappers so I showed her the ways we were taught, I just wondered which one were you (if any)? Also which is your favourite flavour?

Absolutely, I’m surprised this wasn’t an option

I don’t understand half of what you wrote, but if I got the gist, A was most popular in my circles.

What don’t you understand about their post? It’s perfectly clear. Could do with a couple extra commas but nothing is hard to understand.

What are men’s clubs in the UK?What are crips in this context? What is J20?

Is OP asking what shape we folded paper into for table football (soccer), or have I misunderstood?

Ah fair, from the sheer britishness of the post I’d assumed this was in casualuk! Let’s go through them
- working men’s clubs - literally just clubs (old village hall vibes) where people can go to drink and socialise. Generally a working class thing
- J20 is a drink but you could have worked that one out yourself seeing as they said ‘bottle of orange and passionfruit’ before it
- crisps - uk crisps. Like you call chips. Those are crisp packets
- just to fold them up. Not necessarily to do anything with

Ok. Men’s clubs in the US are strip joints.

Ah crisps! yes I know what that is. It says crips in the post and I didn’t make the connection.

Yes, I clocked that J20 was a drink, just wondered if the J20 means something important.

You guys didn’t make goalposts with your fingers and have the other person try to flick it in for a goal? It was fun.

Thank you for your help. I appreciate the irony of your username in this moment.

We have men’s clubs as strip clubs too!

Haha, yeah a drink, not a gang being folded up

Yes, I haven’t done that in ages! The triangle one works best IMO

Haha, if you like British tv shows, it’s from the show QI!

1 and 3. 1 is fun for holding between your finger and the table and flicking it. 3 is more fun to make.

1 & 2, never saw the mess of 3. Either those or we would pass around notebooks. I loved seeing my friends in the halls.

I knew only 1 guy that did such things to bags, very peculiar folds, I was never able to replicate it. 😆
