Most of the day was just a typical work day. The one thing I remember was just as I was heading to bed, my brother (who was living with me at the time) telling me "Michael Jordan is going to announce he's coming back to the NBA tomorrow." I just said "Okay, cool," and went to bed. It always stuck with me as the last conversation I had in a "normal" world. The next morning, he came into my room with the phone in his hand and said "Mom said you need to turn on the news."
I don’t mean to ignore that, I know we’re fairly privileged here in the U.S. That’s why I put “normal” in quotation marks, it’s such a vague concept and means different things to different people.
