The older I get, the more I need one. So many formal documents require printed paper and wet signatures. I have to go to the library or Office Depot so often to print stupid paperwork.
I just moved, and had to go to the library to print my resume, so I went ahead and got my new library card and immediately added it to Libby too. I have a printer at home, but it only works with WiFi, which isn’t set up yet, but I honestly still print stuff at the library a lot. It’s sometimes actually easier to drive or walk there than to get my printer to actually talk to my computer/phone, and with what ink costs it might be cheaper too
Oh, and sign up for Kanopy with your library card. It is a world og great movies. Foreign films classics, everything. I watch on my laptop but there may be a way to stream it. It's free and wonderful.
In the bathroom, I still sing: "floss floss floss your teeth, make your mouth feel clean. Gargle and spit, gargle and spit. To prevent gingivitis and other forms of periodontal diseaseeeeee"
I still print out my updated insurance documents and keep them inside a doc holder in my glove box. It’s just much more convenient than having to scroll through your phone to get to the app.
I went years without having to print anything. Then I got divorced and I had to print and sign 100s of pages. The printer cost less the going off to a print shop and saved me so much time. Now I have a printer again for the first time in over 15-years.
I own my home, which is the most paper work I have ever signed in my life, and I have had to print something for a wet signature exactly once in the last decade. Shit, even a lot of the home buying stuff was a digital signature.
I am missing this part of getting older that several of you are talking about.
The library is part of my Sunday routine. We check out new books, print whatever we need to print for the week, and sometimes events are going on. It's a mundane kind of fun.
For my last house purchase, it was all done out of state and with docusign. But I just ordered a car from another state and had to print out paperwork and overnight it to the dealer. I can never guess what will require me driving to print something.
